The Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation scholarships are available to students who will be attending any accredited university, college or vocational/trade school located in the state of Tennessee. This is a one time, annual scholarship. The full amount awarded will be dispersed to the student's school at the beginning of the 2011 school year. Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to apply:

1.Be a graduating high school/charter school senior from any Tennessee school and/or be a high school graduate that has graduated within the last year and/or be a former recipient of a NAHCC Foundation Scholarship award from the previous year and is reapplying for scholarship renewal. Winners who are freshmen attending a credited university, college or vocational/trade school may reapply for consideration for the following year’s NAHCC Foundation Scholarship.

2.Have a Hispanic heritage background with a family/community connection to culture and traditions

3.Possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (or 3.5 if reapplying)

Scholarships start at $1,000 based on financial need. All decisions regarding scholarship awards are made by the scholarship selection committee appointed by the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Scholarships Committee. Applicants are evaluated on both quantitative and subjective criteria including academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, financial need and student essays. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarships Committee and contingent upon verification of graduation. All decisions are final.
