Empowering Growth in Business (EGB)
The NAHCC Foundation’s “Empowering Growth in Business” initiative began its preparatory phase in January 2024. During this initial period, the Foundation focused on identifying the most pressing needs of small, minority, and Hispanic-owned businesses in the region. This involved holding informal discussions, conducting preliminary outreach, and reviewing feedback from entrepreneurs and community stakeholders.
By assessing key barriers—such as limited awareness of procurement opportunities, uncertainty around certification processes, and inadequate digital strategies—the Foundation shaped a responsive, evidence-based program.
Throughout January and February, the NAHCC Foundation secured commitments from expert speakers, resource partners, government agencies, and industry leaders. Informational flyers and preliminary announcements were distributed to community groups, while target audience lists helped guide direct outreach. Marketing efforts intensified in early March, utilizing social media campaigns and local media mentions to build anticipation. By late March, the curriculum and materials—templates, instructional guides, and participant resource lists—were finalized.
With these robust preparations, the Foundation ensured that the series would be practical, relevant, and accessible, setting the stage for a meaningful sequence of sessions beginning in March, 2024.
Outcomes:
The program’s comprehensive, data-driven approach ensured that participants left with practical insights on securing contracts, achieving certifications, strengthening their brands, and integrating digital tools. Regular distribution of templates, guides, and informational materials reinforced learning. Both virtual and in-person formats increased accessibility, allowing the Foundation to engage a wide range of entrepreneurs. Ultimately, these efforts built a stronger,
